Family Photography Session Bristol

A few weeks ago I met up with this young professional family from Bristol for a family photography session.

They were after a documentary family shoot to get those natural, relaxed moments that you just don't get in a photo studio with a white backdrop. My approach to family photography is about capturing the moments that count; it's not always about the smiles, but the real connections between real people.

Generations | Reportage Wedding Photographer Somerset

When photographing weddings, I'm looking for moments just like this. This is the type of photo that is going to mean more than any elaborate photo of wedding rings or a staged group photo of guests jumping, these are the real moments between family that are going to be treasured for years to come.

This image was shot at the amazing Maunsel House in Somerset, one of the more interesting wedding venues in the South-West.

Such a beautiful day for a family photography session just outside Bristol in Leigh Woods. I love Spring family photo sessions as the light is perfect and all the buds and flowers are just starting to come through. Outside photo shoots are a great alternative to studio family portraits as the family can relax and have fun while I capture the natural, playful interaction with you and your family. Please have a look at my info page here or get in touch here if you'd like to find out more about my Bristol family photography sessions.

Walton Castle Wedding Photography | Clevedon Photographer

I feel really lucky to have been the Walton Castle wedding photographer a number of times over the years for some fantastic, creative weddings. To have your own castle for the weekend is just amazing and it's been great working with couples who were looking for a documentary wedding photographer to capture their day in an unobtrusive way. Here is a selection of images from a few of the weddings I've photographed, showing images from the wedding day as well as different set-ups that couples can choose to have.

I'll be at their open day this Sunday, January 8th, so please stop by to discuss your wedding photography as well as to meet many other preferred suppliers of Walton Castle.

When you're planning your wedding and start finding out about what you can (and very often can not) do at venues, Walton Castle is quite refreshing in that it's a blank slate for doing pretty much anything you want too. Indoor or outdoor wedding ceremony, small and large marquees, access to the turrets to use as bars, ceremony or function rooms. Here are a few of the set-ups I've seen. The first is a small, open-air marquee with an outdoor ceremony.

This set-up was for a summer wedding with an outdoor ceremony and a large marquee set up outside the castle walls.

This was a wedding of around 80 guests with an outdoor ceremony and a smaller marquee inside the castle walls.
