Autumn, one of my favourite times of the year and a great season for an outdoor family photoshoot. Even though the leaves were mainly down and it wasn't a particularly nice day, these two brothers were troopers and didn't mind getting in the dirt for a play.Read More
bristol family photographer
A few weeks ago I met up with this young professional family from Bristol for a family photography session.
They were after a documentary family shoot to get those natural, relaxed moments that you just don't get in a photo studio with a white backdrop. My approach to family photography is about capturing the moments that count; it's not always about the smiles, but the real connections between real people.
We certainly got lucky with the weather for this family portrait photography session in South Gloucestershire! The family had hired a National Trust property to celebrate a special birthday so wanted to commemorate the day with some natural, relaxed family portrait photography of them enjoying the property and spending time together. Outdoor portraits are a great alternative to traditional studio family portraits as people are more relaxed and natural as well as providing a bunch of location options. Don't let a little rain put you off, either, as rainy day outdoor portraits can also be really fun and memorable, resulting in great family photos too.
