Pendennis Castle Wedding | Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Another wedding, another castle. Don't take that the wrong way; back-to-back castle weddings is a wedding photographer's dream and I feel so fortunate that this job takes me to some amazing places with some amazing people. This was a lovely seaside wedding at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth.

I generally photograph weddings in and around Bristol and Somerset; Cornwall is a world away from Bristol in terms of weather, geography and just the general outlook on life - so this was a bit of a destination wedding for me. Simon and Jane have salt water in their blood so a coastal wedding was the only option. I've known Simon for years now, having served in the Army with him, so was honoured when they asked me to be their wedding photographer. The wedding was styled beautifully and also reflected the couples sense of humour and laid-back attitude. The father of the bride instilled a bit of surprise humour of his own by providing the wedding car; why hire a wedding car when you've got a customised and highly polished Corsa taking you to your castle wedding? Pendennis Castle is probably the darkest wedding venue I've photographed; wedding photography clearly wasn't one of Henry VIII's priorities when building the castle but it made for some very atmospheric shots of the service. The couple were met as man and wife by a military guard of honour made up by military friends of the couple who also provided some comedy sword fights later on by way of light entertainment.

After the ceremony the wedding party strolled casually along the coast to the stunning reception venue. Although I've been to a few weddings in Falmouth, this was my first wedding at Princess Pavilion, a beautiful seaside wedding venue with great inside and outside spaces. Luckily it was a gorgeous sunny day so the guests were able to chat, drink and nibble in the garden in the glorious sunshine before the wedding breakfast. The day was topped off with touching speeches, a bridal flash mob and dancing into the small hours of the night.

Here are a few of my favourites. Thanks for looking and please get in touch if you're looking for a Cornwall wedding photographer.
